Submission Guidelines

All submissions: To submit to Cabbages & Kings, you must be a current student, faculty member, or alumni of Monroe Community College. All work submitted must be original unpublished work, with the exception of musical submissions (covers/interpretations). If your submission is untitled, we reserve the right to title your submission for our publication.

Literary: Times New Roman, 12-point font, maximum word count of 1,500, include your name, title of piece, and word count. PDF or Word Document format.

Poetry: If accepted, all grammar, mechanics, punctuation, and capitalization submitted will be final. Please proofread before submitting.

Prose: Please double space your document.

Plays: If your piece is longer than 1,500 words including your character descriptions, please send an excerpt for consideration.

Visual: Name, title of piece, medium, computer program (if applicable), 300 DPI, JPEG or PDF format, CMYK, max size of 8.5"x11".

Audio/Visual: Name, title of piece, composer (if applicable), link/QR code to the piece.
